Mango is a super-friendly girl who’s just out there living her best life, one walk at a time. In all honesty, Mango did a great job of getting down to the Dachshunds’ level. She used her signature army crawl-scoot, and aside from the obvious size difference, the other dogs welcomed her with wagging tails and curious noses.

This Golden Retriever just has a special way of making everyone fall in love with her. Whether she’s stealing her mom’s ChapStick and trying to look innocent or crashing a Dachshund meetup, her endearing personality never fails to melt hearts.

The TikTok video from @mangothegoldenrescue starts strong with Mango pulling on her leash as she tries to scootch her big, fluffy Golden Retriever self into the center of a tiny Doxie crowd. The pup clearly has no concept of the size difference—she just saw the other dogs and decided she wanted in, no matter what.

Did the Dachshunds Let the Golden Retriever Join?

One little Dachshund in a purple puffer coat seemed more than happy to have Mango join in. In fact, all the Doxies appeared interested in making friends with the Golden Retriever, so it looks like Mango may have a new friend group to hang out with the next time they’re all at the park.

Caught napping and sleeping on many, many occasions, Daisy is one tired pup. Unfortunately, her human decided to out her on social media with the caption, "No matter how tired you are, you'll never be as tired as an unemployed golden retriever." The absolute disrespect. 

While it's true that most dogs like to sigh and nap like they work multiple jobs a day, it must be hard being them. At least that's what the comment section thinks.

How Much Sleep Do Golden Retrievers Need Daily?

Depending on the stage of life of your Golden Retriever, these goofballs could use anywhere from 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day. Puppies tend to sleep longer to support physical and mental development, while seniors can also get up to 20 hours of rest. 

While it might seem like a long time for your furry friend to snooze, a dog's REM cycle is much shorter than a human's. This means they don't need one long sleep, but rather many light naps throughout the day. Although we don't know exactly how much Daisy sleeps throughout the day, we can say that her adorableness gives her a pass.

The fun-loving Golden Retriever has no issue making a game out of anything in her path, so yes—this is deserving of her epic tippy-tap dance (and a few horse gallops to round things out)!

Why Dogs Love Carrots So Much

Though Nova didn't seem to have any intention of snacking on her crunchy new toy, many dogs love carrots for their sweet crunchiness. It satisfies their need to gnaw on something for self-soothing, but also tastes good and is good for them as long as they're not swallowing huge chunks.

Can Dogs Really Learn Behaviors From Other Pets?

Just like humans, dogs have been known to pick up on the habits of the people and pets around them. 

Social cues and mimicked behaviors are all parts of how we, as humans and our dogs, learn about the world around us. If your dog watches how other dogs—or cats—in the house interact with objects and each other, your dog may start to copy those actions.

This can happen not only with actions, but also with vocalizations. If one pet barks at mail people or guests, other animals might start reacting to visitors with loud squeals, squeaks or meows, too. 

Pets are often found to copy each other's sleep schedules, play styles and eating habits as well.

Of course, this can work with both good and bad habits, so it's best to watch your dog and any other pets closely for positive and negative behaviors.

Then again, if all it means is that your dog cleans themselves and sleeps like a loaf, well, you've got one cute cat-dog on your hands!

Why Yorkies Make the Best Friends for Cats 

Yorkshire Terriers make amazing companions for cats because of their small size. Many only weigh around 3 to 7 pounds as full-grown adults, which makes them a lot less intimidating than larger breed pups. Aside from their tiny frames, Yorkies lack a strong prey drive, so they're not likely to go after any felines in the house.

Plus, if you happen to have a Yorkie and kitty who've formed an unlikely friendship, you might also "lose" your tiny dog to the cat's fluffy tail at some point—and that's a good enough reason to adopt them both!

In fact, Calypso the Pittie is one of those dogs who simply fell in love with the Pup Patty at first bite. Captured on video by her human, Calypso had her very first In-N-Out, and by the looks of it, she's already counting down the days until her next one.

"All That Hype and It Was Gone in 2 Seconds!"

While we aren't sure that Calypso truly tasted the patty, we can be certain she enjoyed it immensely. From the moment she waited in the drive-thru line, Calypso was enamored by the scent of meat and fries. Although it wasn't her usual Starbucks, In-N-Out is probably up there in her favorite places now. Nibbling up the patty in record time, Calypso was more than eager to finish her patty before it could get cold.

Although there has certainly been an increase in fast-food items available to our furry friends, there are some items on the regular menu that dogs might enjoy. 

Just as In-N-Out's Pup Patty, dogs can enjoy unseasoned grilled chicken and plain French fries. One of the most common pet-friendly snacks available is pup cups, which are commonly sold at coffee shops like Starbucks. 

No matter what fast-food treat you pick up for your furry friend, you should always avoid overfeeding them, as it can cause stomach issues later.

 Not one to shy away from danger, Maverick is always ready to protect and defend his home. Even if that means interrupting cuddle time with mom. 

Caught in the arms of his human, Maverick quickly went into protector mode when he heard an abrupt sound entering his home. Like any good guard dog, Maverick quickly sat up, perked his ears, and barked loud enough to scare everyone. Thankfully, it looks like just another false alarm, but now the entire internet knows not to mess with this cuddlebug's family.

Why Do German Shepherds Make Good Guard Dogs? 

With a strong inclination to protect the pack, German shepherds are loyal dogs that are willing to put themselves in danger for the sake of their favorite humans. Apart from their loyalty, German shepherds have a athletic builds that impose, giving them a commanding appearance to any threat. This breed is also known for being easy to train, making them great for any role that involves challenging tasks. 

Although German shepherds are known for getting rough when they need to, that doesn't mean they are an aggressive breed. When socialized properly, this breed can make an ideal family dog that will love and care for young kids at all times. Just as Maverick shows, they can turn from cuddlebugs to guard dogs at a moment's notice, a nice addition to any home with babies or young children. Unfortunately, even these pet parents' best recall training wasn't enough to subdue their black Labrador retriever, Poppy. Highly motivated by food, Poppy's recall training went out the window the minute she spotted her favorite neighbor and their treats. After all, there's no way to get between a dog and their treats.

Despite being trained to stay close to her humans on walks and having great recall, Poppy didn't hesitate to ditch her parents in search of treats. While on their stroll, Poppy spotted treats left by their favorite neighbor in their front yard. 

While it's always recommended to have your dog on a leash in public (it's the law in certain areas), it's clear that Poppy knows the area well enough to find the treats. Even her human had to admit in the caption that the black Lab is "definitely food motivated." 

"Now that's a neighbor you don't want moving away!" commented one viewer.

Should Dogs Always Be on a Leash? 

Although state laws may vary, it's typically always expected that dogs be on a leash in public spaces. Sites like dog parks and beaches with designated areas might be exempt, though it's recommended to research before any visit. In addition to being on a leash, certain states prohibit pet parents from letting their furry friends loose on unfenced private property. 

Despite our dog's best training, keeping them on a leash is for their safety and the safety of others. In an emergency, having them on a leash means you can swiftly pick them up and out of harm's way.

Wednesday is completely smitten with the neighbor and waits by the fence every day, hoping he’ll come over for hugs and attention. Luckily for her, he seems more than happy to oblige.

People Can’t Get Enough of Wednesday Waiting for Her Favorite Human

We all loved seeing Wednesday's excitement when she finally spotted her favorite human coming over to greet her. @Leslie and many others pointed out, "Look at her literally jump for joy!!!"

With more than 72k views, Posi’s wooing at the fire truck made for an adorable video. As the siren wailed, the pup quickly turned around to catch a glimpse of the truck as it drove away. She was as excited as a toddler watching a parade. In fact, if you look closely toward the end of the video, you can see someone holding a toddler who was waving at the firefighters as they drove away.

According to Indy's recipe, all you need to do is blend cucumbers, plain nonfat Greek yogurt and water. Prepare the glass by dipping the rim in plain nonfat Greek yogurt, then in crushed dog treats to create a stronger "salt on the rim" effect. Add some ice, fill your dog's cup with their pawgerita mix, and they're all set. With this recipe, you and your pup can enjoy a fresh drink in the summer sun.

Dog Obstacle Racing Is Becoming One of the Biggest Trends in Pet Fitness

Obstacle course racing with dogs combines elements of trail running, agility and endurance sports into one collaborative activity where dogs and humans navigate challenges together. Think mud pits, climbing walls, water crossings and teamwork-focused exercises designed to strengthen communication between parent and pup.

According to organizers' participation numbers, the sport is exploding internationally. In the United States, the One World Canine Obstacle Run reportedly grew from 623 participants in 2024 to 1,172 participants in 2026. Organizers also say competitors now travel from as many as 46 states to participate.

The growth is not limited to the U.S. either. Events in Germany, Sweden and the U.K. are also seeing major increases in participation, especially from first-time racers. Some organizers report that between 30 and 50 percent of competitors are newcomers to the sport.

Part of the appeal seems to come from the fact that obstacle racing looks less intimidating than traditional dog competitions. It focuses more on bonding, fitness and shared experiences than perfection. Dog parents are not just standing on the sidelines directing commands. Technically, dogs aren't capable of understanding any human language, like English, in the way we do. How Long Do Dogs Need To Sleep?

Little Birdie is just the sweetest doggy, and it's so cute to see her sweet, tired face when it's time to wake up. If your pup is feeling sleepy, too, experts say dogs in general just sleep a lot. 

According to PetPlan UK, how much sleep a dog needs in a day depends on their age and breed. They explain that in general, a dog will need about 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day, but that can be less for some pups or even more, up to 18 hours a day, for other dogs.

In this case, his close attachment earned him a spa day that he probably didn't want. While we aren't sure that's what Axel had in mind, we believe he had to enjoy it deep down inside. Either way, Axel and his mom now have glowy and smooth skin.

Why Dogs Beg for Food and What Trainers Say About Managing the Behavior

Benny is such a sweetheart that it would be nearly impossible to be upset or frustrated with him, even though he seems to have some struggles with personal space. If your dog does something similar and begs for food while you're trying to eat it, and that's bothering you, there are some things you can do to help stop that behavior. 

According to PetMD, experts say dogs learn this begging behavior because it's their "primary reinforcer," and they're driven to find food so they can sniff it out anywhere. Those two things are just part of a dog's behavior, but they also can't really tell whether something they're smelling is for them or all yours. But this can become an issue if they learn that the food is theirs, too, and if they beg and stand near it, they'll get what they want. 

If that's a behavior you want stopped, there are a few things you can do, according to PetMD. This includes teaching a pup an alternative learned behavior when it's time for you to sit down to eat. This could be practicing with them to sit on their dog bed when it's time for you to eat. Give them a treat when they stay there instead of their nose being on your dish, and over time, that will become the new learned thing.

Mom sets the stage by explaining to Bentley’s fans that the family couldn’t figure out why they kept finding him hanging around the pantry. She also admitted that each time they caught him in there, he somehow looked even guiltier than before.

“He seemed pretty focused on one area of the pantry,” Mom wrote as Bentley stood with his nose in the air, giving a bag of tortillas a very long sniff.

How Quickly Do Golden Retrievers Grow? 

As you can see, in the span of just 20 quick seconds, Golden Retrievers grow insanely fast! Joking, of course, but most of them do rapidly reach growth milestones in their first 10 to 12 months of life. Though they won't reach full maturity in growth and otherwise until they're around 2 years old, these adorable companions are gaining an impressive 10 pounds every 3 months or so, starting at 6 months old.

By the 8-week mark, Golden pups can weigh around 15 pounds, more than doubling that to 40 to 50 pounds at 6 months. So it really is a fast process for these angels. Why Does My Dog Wake Me up Every Morning?

If you're not a morning person but your pup very much is, it can be frustrating when you feel like your sleep is always being interrupted. But there are some ways you can help level out the difference between how you want to sleep and how your dog wants you to be awake way earlier than you want.

According to the American Kennel Club, there are many reasons why your dog might wake you up in the morning, and it's usually just become the routine... but you can't always assume that. The experts say that sometimes you can just ignore it, and eventually they'll realize that waking you up won't get them what they want. But if they're waking you up because they need to do their business outside, that's a wake-up call you want to reinforce.

There are a few suggestions they make. If your dog is waking you to cuddle, eat, or just because, try an automatic feeder if they want to eat early. Take them out for a potty break before you go to bed. Ensure their sleeping space is quiet and dark, so they don't wake too early. Wear out their energy with puzzles and treats, and spend lots of quality time with your dog during the day.

If their wakeup calls don't bother you for being too early, well, enjoy that you probably have the best, cutest, and most welcome alarm clock of us all!

Despite being able to take in fresh air and hang out with his human, Ronnie seems like he's good on the walking front. As captured by his human, Ronnie is giving them quite the battle to get into his harness and go for a little physical exercise. Although I don't doubt he eventually obliged, we can't help but wonder whether he got more tired from his tantrum than he would have from just going for a walk in the first place.

"Will Ronnie Ever Go for a Walk?"

In a series titled, "Will Ronnie Ever Go For A Walk?" Ronnie's human captures the rarity of a dog that doesn't like going for walks. Unlike most pets, this English bulldog makes it very clear that he doesn't like the idea of physical exercise. 

At just the sight of his harness, Ronnie goes into full tantrum mode, running up and down the stairs, trying to avoid capture. Unfortunately for Ronnie, these tantrums usually end with a walk anyway. While it's not a common sight to see bulldogs move at such speed, Ronnie truly defies the odds in every way.

"Baby's getting enough exercise running up and down them stairs," jokes one viewer. 

Thankfully, for everyone, it seems his "tantrum" is just part of his ploy. In response to the comments, Ronnie's human explained, "It's just a game he likes to play; he's happy on his walk once he gets outside."

How Much Exercise Do English Bulldogs Need? 

Although going on walks might seem like too much for Ronnie, it's just the right exercise for his breed. Unlike active dogs like golden retrievers, English bulldogs require only moderate physical exercise. For this breed, the right amount of exercise tends to last around 20 to 30 minutes a day. 

However, for English bulldogs, these 20 to 30 minutes should be split up into small sessions throughout the day. A small 10 to 15-minute walk twice a day is more than enough to help keep our favorite squishy breed healthy and happy. Light playtime, like tug-of-war or indoor puzzles, is also a great way to help keep these dogs happy. 

Because of their stature and weight, it's important to keep English bulldogs active to help prevent future health problems.

Amber (@amber.rooted) picked up a statue of a sleeping Lab that she thought would look perfect on her porch. But her real dogs didn’t agree, and they had a lot to say about the new neighbor.

Viewers Can’t Get Enough of the 'Intruder'

Viewers got a kick out of the dogs' reaction to the statue and had some funny things to say about it. @donaldrichards2025 joked, "The dog on the porch is a menace to society." @mauigirl321 agreed, "Pretty sure he moved, watch out, watch out, he's sneaky!"

Dogs are naturally protective and quickly pay attention to unfamiliar sights and sounds. Even something as harmless as a statue of a sleeping dog can trigger a big reaction since it wasn't usually there, so it's no wonder that Amber's dogs reacted this way... they were just trying to keep her safe!

When his mom suddenly exclaimed, “Grandma’s here!” the pup jumped to his feet and ran up the stairs... even though he should’ve been heading for the back door. Poor Wally (@wally.meets.world) got a little turned around in all the excitement. As he waits on the staircase, Mom laughs, “Where are you going? She’s not up there!”

Once the pup was finally headed in the right direction, it was clear the reunion would be amazing. The Golden Retriever jumps up to take a peek out of the back door window, but he has to wait for Mom to handle the doorknob.

Then it’s go time—he races down the back steps at record speed, where Grandma is waiting for him at the gate. “Well, hello, handsome,” Grandma says, and the Golden Retriever is beside himself.

Wally can’t contain his excitement for one more second. As Grandma reaches over the gate, she hands him a brown paper bag with a gift inside. Even though he sits when asked, his sheer delight gets the better of him, and using both paws, he snatches the bag right out of her hand.

If you ask this Golden Retriever, he’d say absolutely. His grandma always shows up with special gifts and treats, and this time was no exception. She brought him the most adorable stuffed doggie basket filled with toy apples, and he couldn’t wait to carry it upstairs to show his mom. Then, in true Wally fashion, the sweet pup ran right back down the steps to thank Grandma all over again.

As you’ll see in a TikTok video shared by their mom, @lifeofsterlingnewton, these two are like peas in a pod—even when they’re having a minor disagreement. No one really knows what they’re “fighting” about (or if they’re even fighting at all), but Colin’s signature booty slam is reason enough to watch the clip more than once.

While we can't exactly speak to Stormi's use of strong language, we can definitely say she is not happy. After "someone had the aumdemicidinity" to tell her that the world doesn't revolve around her, Stormi had a few expletives to throw around. 

Although we aren't sure who was capable of lying to this adorable pit bull, we are sure that Stormi doesn't need much help to defend herself. However, this outrageous lie brought out all of Stormi's fans in the comment section.

Why English Bulldogs Have Stumpy 'Drumstick' Legs

English Bulldogs have a few distinct features you might picture if you close your eyes, those legs being among them.

A 23andMe study found that the reason a Bulldog's legs are so "stumpy" is due to genetic chondrodysplasia, also called short-limbed dwarfism, resulting from genetic marker FGF4. The short legs may be a breed standard, but they can be weak and cause instability or even other health issues, such as spinal issues, premature growth plate closure, and hip dysplasia.

As for Cartman and Wallace, they're healthy and happy boys who are more than happy to show off their precious drumsticks (and we thank them for it)!

Keanu the Pom Pom is such a darling little creature, we almost can't believe he's real. The way he lies belly-up on his mom's lap and dangles his little feet through the fluff, he really looks like a cloud or a stuffed animal.

How Much Attention Do Pomeranians Need?

As it turns out, Keanu isn't just being needy for the sake of it. This breed of dog was born to be a companion to humans, and so Pomeranians require a lot of social interaction and attention.

Pomeranians are perfect "Velcro dogs," as in they want to be stuck to you wherever you go. Particularly during moments spent lounging on the couch, Pomeranians require a bit of stimulation, so the pets do double duty as a show of affection and a mental stimulus. 

These adorable, fluffy dogs bond deeply with their humans and become anxious when separated for long periods. Counteract anxiety with lots of affection, and be sure to take your Pom Pom with you on errands or trips whenever possible.

Why Retrievers Love Carrying Objects 

Bentley is such a sweetheart, and it's so cute to see how much he loves to retrieve things, and yes, the reason for this is right in their name. 

According to PetPlan UK, Golden Retrievers (and other Retrievers) got their name from literally being bred and worked to retrieve things, ducks for Goldens back in the day. They would accompany their parents on hunts, retrieve the ducks after they'd been hit, and bring them back to their humans. So not only do they love to retrieve things, they're hardwired to bring them back to someone they love. This also explains the Goldens' unique love for bodies of water. 

The site explains that since Golden Retrievers need about 2 hours of exercise per day to be their happiest, healthiest selves, having them retrieve things for fun is a great way to keep them mentally stimulated and work off that energy.
