Gabriel the Baby Goat’s Excited Greeting Is Melting Hearts

Mango is a super-friendly girl who’s just out there living her best life, one walk at a time. In all honesty, Mango did a great job of getting down to the Dachshunds’ level. She used her signature army crawl-scoot, and aside from the obvious size difference, the other dogs welcomed her with wagging tails and curious noses.

This Golden Retriever just has a special way of making everyone fall in love with her. Whether she’s stealing her mom’s ChapStick and trying to look innocent or crashing a Dachshund meetup, her endearing personality never fails to melt hearts.

Depending on the stage of life of your Golden Retriever, these goofballs could use anywhere from 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day. Puppies tend to sleep longer to support physical and mental development, while seniors can also get up to 20 hours of rest. 

While it might seem like a long time for your furry friend to snooze, a dog's REM cycle is much shorter than a human's. This means they don't need one long sleep, but rather many light naps throughout the day. Although we don't know exactly how much Daisy sleeps throughout the day, we can say that her adorableness gives her a pass.

Adrienne had a feeling Cruella was up to something and suspected she knew exactly where to look. Since Silkie Chickens are known for being broody, she wasn’t shocked to find what the hen tucked away in a hidden nest. What did surprise her, however, was the massive number of eggs Cruella had secretly been preparing to hatch.

Adrienne estimated that there were about 15 to 20 eggs in Cruella's nest, and we counted at least 18!

"My cat Mogi loves to be held," says Mogi's mom, who uploads cute videos of her cat to her YouTube channel.

This capybara's name is Cheesecake, and after a bit of door-frame staring, Stevie and the woman let Cheesecake into the house. From there, the party was on.

Are Capybaras Very Friendly?

Capybaras have a reputation for being "friends with everyone" online, which may be due to their highly social and gentle nature.

These creatures are actually laid-back as a rule. They naturally move in herds and live in strong communities, and they're just as happy forming packs with the other creatures around them as they are their capybara brothers and sisters. 

Just because they are friendly, however, does not mean they aren't shy. If you were to approach a capybara you didn't know, they can be quite skittish and even defensive. It's best not to just run up to one if you see them in their natural habitat, in the tropical and temperate parts of South America—or at a wildlife refuge in Florida.

Still, if you meet one at a zoo or in a public setting of the sort, capybaras accustomed to human interaction are generally very outgoing. Next time you see a capybara, you might just leave with a new bestie.

Can Dogs Really Learn Behaviors From Other Pets?

Just like humans, dogs have been known to pick up on the habits of the people and pets around them. 

Social cues and mimicked behaviors are all parts of how we, as humans and our dogs, learn about the world around us. If your dog watches how other dogs—or cats—in the house interact with objects and each other, your dog may start to copy those actions.

This can happen not only with actions, but also with vocalizations. If one pet barks at mail people or guests, other animals might start reacting to visitors with loud squeals, squeaks or meows, too. 

Pets are often found to copy each other's sleep schedules, play styles and eating habits as well.

Of course, this can work with both good and bad habits, so it's best to watch your dog and any other pets closely for positive and negative behaviors.

Then again, if all it means is that your dog cleans themselves and sleeps like a loaf, well, you've got one cute cat-dog on your hands!

In a recent Instagram video, the adorable donkey presses herself right up against her mom’s legs. Her human tries to encourage her to run toward someone in the background, saying, “Go get her!” But that isn't in Stella's plans. "All That Hype and It Was Gone in 2 Seconds!"

While we aren't sure that Calypso truly tasted the patty, we can be certain she enjoyed it immensely. From the moment she waited in the drive-thru line, Calypso was enamored by the scent of meat and fries. Although it wasn't her usual Starbucks, In-N-Out is probably up there in her favorite places now. Nibbling up the patty in record time, Calypso was more than eager to finish her patty before it could get cold.

In the comments section, viewers couldn't get enough of Calypso's food review. "Calypso: Seriously? Ready? Am I ready?! I was ready like 2 years ago, Mom! Why have you been holding out on me?!" commented one user.

Which Fast Food Treats Can Dogs Eat?

Although there has certainly been an increase in fast-food items available to our furry friends, there are some items on the regular menu that dogs might enjoy. 

Just as In-N-Out's Pup Patty, dogs can enjoy unseasoned grilled chicken and plain French fries. One of the most common pet-friendly snacks available is pup cups, which are commonly sold at coffee shops like Starbucks. 

No matter what fast-food treat you pick up for your furry friend, you should always avoid overfeeding them, as it can cause stomach issues later.

 Not one to shy away from danger, Maverick is always ready to protect and defend his home. Even if that means interrupting cuddle time with mom. 

Caught in the arms of his human, Maverick quickly went into protector mode when he heard an abrupt sound entering his home. Like any good guard dog, Maverick quickly sat up, perked his ears, and barked loud enough to scare everyone. Thankfully, it looks like just another false alarm, but now the entire internet knows not to mess with this cuddlebug's family.

Why Do German Shepherds Make Good Guard Dogs? 

With a strong inclination to protect the pack, German shepherds are loyal dogs that are willing to put themselves in danger for the sake of their favorite humans. Apart from their loyalty, German shepherds have a athletic builds that impose, giving them a commanding appearance to any threat. Just as Maverick shows, they can turn from cuddlebugs to guard dogs at a moment's notice, a nice addition to any home with babies or young children. In a recent TikTok video, the bird is perched on the back of a kitchen stool when he just casually says, “Hi! This adorable singing banter goes back and forth for a few moments, and Gideon adds a little spice to the moment by saying... well, more like singing his favorite word, “wings,” a few times, too. Unfortunately, even these pet parents' best recall training wasn't enough to subdue their black Labrador retriever, Poppy. Highly motivated by food, Poppy's recall training went out the window the minute she spotted her favorite neighbor and their treats. After all, there's no way to get between a dog and their treats.

"Definitely Food Motivated"

Despite being trained to stay close to her humans on walks and having great recall, Poppy didn't hesitate to ditch her parents in search of treats. While on their stroll, Poppy spotted treats left by their favorite neighbor in their front yard. 

While it's always recommended to have your dog on a leash in public (it's the law in certain areas), it's clear that Poppy knows the area well enough to find the treats. Even her human had to admit in the caption that the black Lab is "definitely food motivated." 

"Now that's a neighbor you don't want moving away!" commented one viewer. 

Another viewer also added, "The dichotomy of food-motivated dogs." A sentiment most pet parents know too well, it's a double-edged sword, knowing that food can get your dogs to do anything.

Should Dogs Always Be on a Leash? 

Although state laws may vary, it's typically always expected that dogs be on a leash in public spaces. Sites like dog parks and beaches with designated areas might be exempt, though it's recommended to research before any visit. In addition to being on a leash, certain states prohibit pet parents from letting their furry friends loose on unfenced private property. 

Despite our dog's best training, keeping them on a leash is for their safety and the safety of others. In an emergency, having them on a leash means you can swiftly pick them up and out of harm's way.

According to Indy's recipe, all you need to do is blend cucumbers, plain nonfat Greek yogurt and water. Prepare the glass by dipping the rim in plain nonfat Greek yogurt, then in crushed dog treats to create a stronger "salt on the rim" effect. Add some ice, fill your dog's cup with their pawgerita mix, and they're all set. With this recipe, you and your pup can enjoy a fresh drink in the summer sun.

Thanks to two new studies, pet parents might be closer than ever to eliminating doggy breath for good. Conducted on the efficiency of the pet brand, Kingdom's Superculture Pet Oral, these two new studies mark a step forward in solving the issue. 

Kingdom Looks to Eliminate Doggy Breath for Good

In what is now the second and third peer-reviewed study on the matter, Kingdom's Superculture Pet Oral is showing promising results in combating doggy breath. The first study showed a 26 percent reduction in bad-breath compounds compared to the placebo group within 14 days. In terms of preventing worsening breath, the dogs in the placebo group had a 38 percent increase in odor-causing compounds compared with those taking the Superculture Pet Oral. 

The study concluded that even with a low dose, the ingredients delivered consistent results in as little as 14 days. Those taking higher doses saw results in as little as seven days.

The second study conducted using Superculture gave experts a closer look at how and why the product works. The results concluded that an "overall shift in the microbiome, including in abundance of nine times as many pathogen-associated bacteria compared to the placebo group in just 7 days." 

This study also found a 44 percent reduction in odor-causing bacterial colonies by the seventh day. 

"Pet parents are increasingly skeptical of products that promise results but don't deliver anything noticeable," said Aylesse Sordillo, principal scientist at Kingdom. "What sets this research apart is that it connects rigorous clinical data with results people can actually see—and smell—in their pets, like fresher breath within weeks."

I also have to say, if my dog saw this, she would absolutely think I could do better. She would watch that duck getting shrimp salad and chilled pea service and immediately start reevaluating the standards in this household. Fair enough, honestly.

Dogs are incredibly intelligent creatures, and they do understand the concept of personal ownership when it comes to toys and other objects around the house.

Whether in the wild or in your home, dogs are naturally territorial animals. If they have claimed a toy or object in their mind, they may guard it or carry it around to ensure everyone else in the house knows it is theirs.

Within the pack, dogs are aware of a social hierarchy, and they know which objects are theirs and which belong to other members above or below them in the pecking order. When it comes to people, most dogs understand that their human parent has the ultimate say, but if you make a big show of giving them the toy or object, they'll love it as their own.

Viewers Love Hearing Fritz 'Talk'

What's so funny about Fritz's tiny voice is that hippos can be extremely loud. According to the San Diego Zoo, hippo grunts have been recorded at 115 decibels. To put it into perspective, that's the volume of a rock concert when you’re standing about 15 feet from the speakers!

Until recently, Frank was part of an Orange Cat trio, but after his humans rescued a stray kitten a few months ago, the group became a quartet. While the other two cats aren’t especially interested in the newcomer, Frank has taken little Clover under his wing—or paw, rather.

Clover had a rough start before joining the family. She was living as a stray with an injured front leg, and honestly, it’s a bit of a miracle she survived everything she went through. After being rescued, Clover underwent a leg amputation and spent some time in quarantine while she recovered, but she and Frank were immediately drawn to one another.

Now the two are inseparable. Wherever Frank goes, Clover is usually right behind him. It’s as if Frank is proud to share all of his wise big brother knowledge, and Clover is soaking up every bit of it.

You may have seen Frank and his brothers on social media. They’re the trio of Orange Cats known for conducting a daily wildlife review just outside their front door. Both stand squarely in front of the other, but it's the puppy that makes the first move. The little tyke goes into a full-on rush, chasing the big dog down the hall and through the house.

Not to worry, though. Both dogs knew it was all in play, and they were truly becoming best friends in an instant.

The Rottweiler comes back into the living room with a toy in his mouth, acting up a storm as if he's frightened of the puppy, only to look back at the camera and give a big smile as if to say, "This puppy is the best present ever!"

How to Introduce a Big Dog to a Small Dog

While this meet-cute is certainly adorable, some experts think it's best to introduce dogs of different sizes (or even the same size) on leashes at first. This way, if someone gets a little too excited or nippy, there is a way to control the contact and quickly separate the pups.

It's also advised to introduce dogs in a neutral environment, like a park or backyard, so there's no feeling of personal space being invaded. If you're introducing a puppy to more than one dog, it's best to introduce them to each other one at a time anyway, so that the puppy isn't intimidated by the whole pack.

Of course, sometimes you get lucky, and the two dogs become instant best friends, just like this big guy and his little puppy partner!

You can easily see how much fun the turtle has digging in the sand, swinging its claws in the swirls and making a big tornado underwater.

What Are the Top-Scoring Enrichment Tools for Turtles?

The bristle brush is a big winner, with a 10/10 rating because it "relieves the itches and can help remove scutes!"

Scutes are hard, external scales on the turtle's shell made of keratin, similar to our hair and nails. It's important that these shed from time to time as the turtle grows, just as we need to get larger shoes and clothes as we grow.

The turtle looks like it's having a party, rubbing against the brush, dancing and scrubbing, kicking up dirt.

This genius couple turned a summertime snack into cuteness overload by scooping out all the watermelon flesh, then turning the shell upside down and filling it with water for the tiny ducklings to enjoy.

The couple actually dug a hole in the ground and placed the watermelon inside, so that the small ducks can reach the water with their beaks—and their bodies!

After a few moments of curious looking, the ducks sipped at the watermelon-flavored water, then jumped in for a swim and a bath. Sometimes two or three ducks jostle for space in the watermelon pool. It's just so cute! We can't look away!

Once the ducklings had their fill of swimming, they lay in the sun and dried in its rays. We can't think of a more perfect summer day than that.

Do Baby Ducks Naturally Know How to Swim?

As it turns out, baby ducklings will instinctively waddle and paddle with their webbed feet as soon as they're born, but there are still ways you have to take extra care with baby ducklings if you're raising them away from their mother.

Baby ducks are not born waterproof. In the wild, mother ducks share their waterproofing oils with their babies through grooming and nestling. This oil helps keep their soft feathers from absorbing too much water, making the duckling heavier on the surface and unable to support its weight.

Dog Obstacle Racing Is Becoming One of the Biggest Trends in Pet Fitness

Obstacle course racing with dogs combines elements of trail running, agility and endurance sports into one collaborative activity where dogs and humans navigate challenges together. Think mud pits, climbing walls, water crossings and teamwork-focused exercises designed to strengthen communication between parent and pup.

According to organizers' participation numbers, the sport is exploding internationally. In the United States, the One World Canine Obstacle Run reportedly grew from 623 participants in 2024 to 1,172 participants in 2026. Organizers also say competitors now travel from as many as 46 states to participate.

Lucy doesn't have to know how to speak English to understand what Mom said. Do Dogs Understand English?

Technically, dogs aren't capable of understanding any human language, like English, in the way we do. But they do understand specific words, phrases, sounds, and what these things mean through association and repetition. Being exposed to conversations regularly lets them pick up what they're most exposed to and connect those things to a behavior, action, or emotion.

How Long Do Dogs Need To Sleep?

Little Birdie is just the sweetest doggy, and it's so cute to see her sweet, tired face when it's time to wake up. If your pup is feeling sleepy, too, experts say dogs in general just sleep a lot. 

According to PetPlan UK, how much sleep a dog needs in a day depends on their age and breed. They explain that in general, a dog will need about 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day, but that can be less for some pups or even more, up to 18 hours a day, for other dogs. 

Senior dogs tend to need more sleep than adults, but puppies also need a lot of sleep, thanks to all the growing they're doing. Larger pooches, on average, require more daily naps than small dogs, but all this time will be broken up into several naps throughout the day. Some dogs can get enough sleep amid the hustle and bustle of the home, while others, like Little Birdie, might need a quieter space to ensure their sleep is restful so they can greet the day with all the energy they want. 

In this case, his close attachment earned him a spa day that he probably didn't want. While we aren't sure that's what Axel had in mind, we believe he had to enjoy it deep down inside. Either way, Axel and his mom now have glowy and smooth skin.

Axel the Rottweiler likes to be wherever his mom is, even if that means having to endure a spa day against his will. Sitting next to his mom while she was doing her nails in a sheet mask, Axel never could've guessed the next step. 

Unfortunately for Axel, sitting next to his mom means participating in the activity, so the needy pup got his own sheet mask. With his mom filing his nails, it's just a regular mom-and-son spa day.
